After 10 years of "sameness" in my single chair salon, I needed to shake things up. I changed the furniture, painted the walls, swapped out pictures, all of it. Alright, salon was starting to look new and fresh. Now came time to add something new to my apron game and change up the salon capes. Eh. For aprons, my choices were basically black or black. Crappy quality or uncomfortable, fugly designs or boring colors. For capes, my choices were the same. After trying out a few different capes and aprons, I just couldn't find something that looked cool, was comfortable and also held up to the grind of hair styling. I went to the drawing board and started this list... I want something that screams excitement It needs to be bright and fun to shake up my work day It needs to be pretty, something I'd actually want to wear everyday And from that list - through creating Colored Cloth - to designing and manufacturing capes and aprons that I thought me and all my hair stylist friends would want to use, here we are. While this is starting with capes and aprons, it's only the start. Sometimes, little things like freshening up your workspace, drastically changing your hair color, or even wearing a brand new apron that you love can be a little spark of inspiration that leads to new things.
